Desert in Layers
On designing a room that holds a crowd and still feels calm when empty.

Some spaces make an impression through scale or statement. Others stay with you for quieter reasons: the warmth of the materials, the softness of the light and the way everything seems to settle naturally into place.
“Luxury here is found in restraint.”
That feeling became the foundation of this majlis. Warm timber, natural stone, soft neutral fabrics and subtle darker accents shape the interior. The materials are rich without feeling heavy, and nothing competes for attention.

Much of the work came down to the small decisions: where two materials meet, the proportion of a wall panel, the placement of a light and the relationship between furniture and architecture.
